The Developer position

We are currently looking for a developer that can program our card game in Unity. We need someone to make the cards and decks function in the game, their placement, interaction with each other, such as the combat system and in game events. You will have a say in decisions in the team. The project will run this year, where you will be making the prototype. Further development will be possible afterwards. Your hours will be flexible. You can join full-time or part-time, in our office or join remotely, we will adapt, some of us are already here full time. We welcome both a go-getter, a person full of idea or someone who prefer clear tasks.       
Qualifications:

  • C# experience or a similar language, or you are on track to learn it

  • Preferably, but not needed:  experience with Unity

  • You can conceptualize code based on requirements

The Graphic Artist position

We are currently looking for a graphic artist that can make our 2D graphics in our card game. We need graphics both for the illustrations of the fantasy-mythological creatures, soldiers, ancient war scenes, various items and the like, but also the layout of the cards themselves, their UI such as icons, text and more. You will have a say in decisions in the team. The project will run this year, where you will be making the prototype. Further development will be possible afterwards. Your hours will be flexible. You can join full-time or part-time, in our office or join remotely, we will adapt, some of us are already here full time. We welcome both a go-getter, a person full of idea or someone who prefer clear tasks.                          
Qualifications:

  • Can create illustrations and layout by hand or using digital tools

  • Preferably, familiar with design software, such as InDesign, Illustrator, or photoshop

  • You can conceptualize visuals based on requirements

 

The project unlike none other          
We are developing a prototype of a digital educational card game in a historical/ mythological universe. The aim is to inspire learning of history and other subjects. The inspiration for the game design is Heroes meets, Age of Empires, Civilizations, Heartstone and Faeria. We’re using Unity to develop the game. For a full description go to: gamucatex.com/games

The organization

Gamucatex founded 2020 is a student startup in the University of Copenhagen’s Innovation Hub. We are a small dedicated team of Danes and Chinese in: IT, Information Science, Business Management, History and Game Development. We are great at getting data and information about our users, sorting and analysis, meaning we can produce user-oriented games. We found an innovative and good concept for a game that that empowers the user. Our mission is to establish a service which will enable learning and teaching of many users. We also run a radio podcast about games where we interview industry folks and game developers. If you are interested in gaining access to networking opportunities in the world of game development, then this is a great chance to do so.

Our wonderful HQ

We work in a transparent organization that teaches, shares and learners from everyone.  As we are devoted to collaboration, we made having a good culture and conditions for the team a top priority. We also want to promote and follow socially responsible and ethical decisions both internally and externally. We have a shared office space in the Hub at KUA, Copenhagen. Here, members are invited to attend professional workshops, which is a good opportunity to improve entrepreneurship.


It’s a cool startup and currently unpaid

We have not been funded, all members are committed to the project and do it for a good time. We also want the experience and the brilliant learning opportunities coming from the unique expertise areas and backgrounds in the team. For example, we have made room for learning/ practicing Danish/Chinese. Before we are funded no one takes a salary, but the goal is a collective agreement (overenskomst). As the team members are valued and the foundation, we are always happy to talk about what you need to start and stay here now and in the future.
